Patti was fortunate to begin riding 43 years ago with a German certified instructor. This first instructor was German calvary trained in the years prior to the First World War and typified the focus and discipline of that era. All students participated in a minimum of every-other-day training as well as horsemanship and stable management classes. During Patti's first decade of instruction, she participated in regular lessons 3-6 times a week in dressage, show jumping, cross-country (eventing), driving, gymkhana, polo, lunging, and vaulting. Later, Patti studied Hunters and tackless riding.
In the following 3 1/2 decades, Patti continued her studies under many great masters, both European and American, including Olympians, a past master of the Cadre Noir, and a past master of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. For the past 15 years, her main mentors have been Hans Biss and Michael Page.
Patti obtained a bachlelor's degree in Sports Medicine, studies Exercise Physiology at the masters level, and obtained a Masters degree in Kinsiology from the University of Texas. She specialized in equestrian Biomechanics, athletic learning styles, psychological skills of elite competitors, and detailed analysis of technical movements.
Patti competed internationally for many years in show jumping, eventing and dressage. Among many of her honors, being asked to represent Thailand on their National team for 4 years was very special. Patti earned her USDF certified instructor/trainer, L graduate, bronze and silver medal all on horses she has trained herself.
Patti trains students at her farm from beginning to advance levels in dressage, show jumping and eventing. She is considered an excellent instructor and horse trainer who has mastered her craft. She gives clinics in the US as well as overseas. She still competes but has found her greatest passion is passing her knowledge to eager students.
